Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus is located 5 miles away from the old quarter of Marbella. Created in 1970 by Don Jose Banus as the Costa del Sol's first pleasure harbour, its impact has been so great that it is no longer simply a marina, having become a residential area for high-class tourism. Beside the docks of Puerto Banus, a Mediterranean style village was built, giving the harbour its charming look. As the main marina on the coast, many famous luxury yachts have visited it and several intercontinental boat races and deep-sea fishing tournaments have been periodically held in Puerto Banus.
